Fundación Karumbé

Founded in 1999, this non-profit organization is made up of young students, biologists, veterinarians, educators, fishermen, researchers, and community members who voluntarily contribute to the conservation of Uruguay’s biodiversity.

Since 1999, they have been monitoring the Uruguayan coast and marine areas, a key zone for the feeding and development of three species of sea turtles: green turtle, loggerhead turtle, and Kemp’s ridley turtle. They carry out research, conservation, and rehabilitation activities for these turtles.
