Pumas in Torres del Paine
Suggested duration: 5 to 7 days
Location: Patagonia, Chile
Experience: Explore the steppe and foothills of Torres del Paine National Park with guides specialized in wildlife tracking, searching for the elusive Patagonian puma. Excursions take place at dawn and dusk, combined with hikes and opportunities to observe guanacos, foxes, and condors.
Uruguay
Suggested duration: 5 to 7 days
Location: Uruguay
Experience: The country offers a mix of beaches, wetlands, and grasslands where wildlife is present in every corner. Along the Atlantic coast, sea lions can be spotted on the islands off Punta del Este and Cabo Polonio, along with coastal and migratory birds. The Eastern Wetlands, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, host an enormous diversity of waterbirds, including flamingos and black-necked swans. Inland, the grasslands allow encounters with capybaras, foxes, armadillos, and a wide variety of field birds.
Pantanal
Suggested duration: 7 to 10 days
Location: Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil
Experience: The world’s largest wetland and one of the best places on the planet for wildlife observation. Here, you can spot the elusive jaguar in the wild, as well as tapirs, capybaras, caimans, and a vast variety of birds, including toucans, macaws, and jabirus. The experience combines 4x4 safaris, boat trips along rivers and lagoons, and guided walks along trails. Between July and October, during the dry season, animals gather around water sources, offering unforgettable encounters.
Birdwatching in Misiones
Suggested duration: 4 to 6 days
Location: Misiones, Argentina
Experience: Visit private reserves such as Yabotí or Urugua-í, where the heart of the Atlantic Forest is preserved. Guided hikes through tall rainforest offer sightings of birds such as toucans, surucuas, yacutingas, and bellbirds. Ideal for birdwatchers and lovers of deep, lush greenery.
Peninsula Valdés
Suggested duration: 4 to 6 days
Location: Chubut, Argentina
Experience: One of the most important spots in the Southern Hemisphere for marine wildlife observation. Between June and December, southern right whales can be seen from the shore or on boat trips. Visits also include sea lion and elephant seal colonies, Magellanic penguins, and—if you’re lucky—orcas in action.
Ría Deseado
Suggested duration: 3 to 4 days
Location: Santa Cruz, Argentina
Experience: Boat trips in a historic natural setting, visiting the same landscapes that Charles Darwin explored. Observe Commerson’s dolphins (arguably the most beautiful dolphins in the world) and the only continental colony of Southern Rockhopper penguins. You may also see sea lions, cormorants, petrels, and terns.


Parque Patagonia
Suggested duration: 6 to 8 days
Location: Santa Cruz, Argentina and Aysén, Chile
Experience: One of the most pristine regions on the continent, featuring unique ecological restoration projects. Hike among guanacos, rheas, condors, and foxes, with the possibility of spotting pumas. Explore both parks, crossing the border via scenic passes.
Iberá
Suggested duration: 4 to 6 days
Location: Corrientes, Argentina
Experience: One of the most biodiverse wetlands on the continent. Boat trips through lagoons and channels at sunrise or sunset offer sightings of capybaras, caimans, marsh deer, a wide variety of birds, and, if lucky, monkeys and giant anteaters. Optional: visits to wildlife reintroduction projects (jaguars, macaws, etc.).


Bañado de la Estrella
Suggested duration: 4 to 5 days
Location: Formosa, Argentina
Experience: Explore the third-largest wetland in South America, with boat trips through the flooded areas at sunrise, walks through native forests, and talks with local communities. Spot waterbirds, marsh deer, and howler monkeys.

Huilo Huilo
Suggested duration: 3 to 5 days
Location: Los Ríos Region, Chile
Experience: A biological reserve nestled in the Patagonian rainforest, featuring ancient forests, mountains, and crystal-clear rivers. Hike among alerce and coigüe trees, enjoy horseback riding, canopy tours, and wildlife observation, including pudús and endemic birds. Accommodation options include unique lodges integrated into the forest. Ideal for combining adventure, nature, and relaxation in a magical setting.
Córdoba
Suggested duration: 2 to 3 days
Location: Sierras Grandes de Córdoba, Argentina
Experience: Hikes through the heights of Quebrada del Condorito National Park, where you can observe Andean condors soaring just a few meters away. The experience also includes interpretation of the mountain ecosystem and encounters with local wildlife.
Buenos Aires
Suggested duration: 2 to 4 days
Location: Buenos Aires, Parque Luro (La Pampa), Campana, Argentina
Experience: A getaway that combines nature and rural culture. Horseback rides across the Pampas plains, observation of grassland and wetland birds, visits to estancias that preserve native wildlife, and trips to reserves such as Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve, Laguna de Rocha, or Ciervo de los Pantanos National Park, home to the iconic marsh deer.
