Patagonia

Where the wind writes stories and wildlife sets the rhythm.

Stretching across southern Argentina and Chile, Patagonia is one of the most remote, wild, and fascinating regions of South America. Its vastness encompasses glaciers, endless steppes, snow-capped mountains, ancient forests, and windswept coasts. Beyond its breathtaking landscapes, Patagonia is a sanctuary for wildlife.

On the Argentine side, the Patagonian steppe is home to the elusive puma, foxes, guanacos, rheas, and dozens of bird species. Along the Atlantic coast, encounters with southern right whales, Commerson’s dolphins, elephant seals, sea lions, and several penguin species—including Magellanic, Southern Rockhopper, and King penguins—are possible. Bahía Bustamante, Península Valdés, and El Doradillo are some of the best locations for these encounters.

Further west, the Lake and Andean-Patagonian Forest region, shared by both countries, offers another face of the south. Parks such as Nahuel Huapi, Lanín, Los Alerces, and Puelo in Argentina, and Vicente Pérez Rosales, Pumalín Douglas Tompkins, and Tagua Tagua in Chile, combine the beauty of crystal-clear lakes, rugged mountains, and lush coihue and lenga forests. This region is ideal for observing forest birds, huemules, monitos del monte, martens, and other inhabitants of the southern temperate forest.

In the heart of Patagonia, the network of parks led by Rewilding Argentina and Rewilding Chile has created a unique conservation corridor. Parque Patagonia, on both the Argentine and Chilean sides, is a symbol of wildlife revival. In these open and restored landscapes, you can track pumas, observe colorful mountains, listen to bandurrias, and experience nature returning, protected by community-driven conservation projects.

To the south on the Chilean side, in Torres del Paine National Park, the stars are the pumas: with the Torres as a backdrop, these felines can be observed in their natural habitat, in one of the areas with the highest sighting density in the world. Additionally, in the far south, the Patagonian fjords and Pacific channels host unique ecosystems inhabited by otters, cetaceans, and seabirds.

Click Fauna offers experiences deeply connected to this territory: guided hikes with expert trackers, stays in remote estancias, navigation along pristine coasts, wildlife observation in freedom, and sustainable lodges committed to conservation.
